As life continued to get busy and hectic, I struggled to find the time to pursue the things I used to love - I started to feel like I was no longer my true self. I realized this was because I had let my art be less of a priority.
So in 2015, I decided to dedicate more of my time doing what I love - painting and creating. The moment I re-discovered watercolors, I was hooked. This was the perfect medium for me as I always loved the impressionists style of art - the loose movement of the colors - but I also loved that watercolor allowed me to create fine details and rich shadows within my paintings.
I’ve always loved creating art for others. I’m a “helper” by nature, so having the chance to share my talents and skills with other people who want to give meaningful gifts or have treasured pieces of artwork for themselves has been a perfect unity for me.
In 2016 my husband and I welcomed the birth of our first baby boy, Johnathan and in 2019 our little Henry arrived. Life is even more hectic than it was years ago, but my dedication to my art has never changed! In 2020 I finally felt the pull to quit my day-job and take my art business full time! It’s certainly been a journey, but I feel so lucky and grateful to be able to support my family with my art and have more time to watch my little guys grow!
When I’m not spending time with my family, you can generally find me in my small studio space with my paintbrushes, watercolors and likely a glass of wine.
The original Lighthouse Sketchbook
When I was nine years old, I received this sketchbook as a gift for Christmas. This was the first time I remember feeling like a real, true artist. I’ve kept this sketchbook throughout my life and through many moves. The pages are all torn and falling out, but it now sits in my studio as a reminder of where my journey with art began.
